I have never imagined having a position that brings me as much joy as my role as an elementary teacher has. I am a second grade teacher at a public school in Louisiana where 100 percent of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. Their curious minds constantly surprises me and encourages me to give them my all during and after school.

My classroom hosts students from a variety of different economic backgrounds that also speak a multitude of languages.
We have an amazing STEM program that constantly challenges our students and feeds their curiosities. My job as a second grade teacher is not to only prepare my students for 3rd grade (LEAP), but to prepare them for a lifetime of learning.
