Greetings!
Thank you for taking the time to visit my profile and read through my story. I am a certified math educator teaching at Hartman Middle School. Hartman is a title-one school with over 85% of the student population at a socio-economical disadvantage. However, that does not stop my students from being encouraged and giving 100% excellence each and every day in the classroom. I want to expand the horizons and explore the opportunities and possibilities of STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics) related projects online on a global platform. That is why I need your help to make this happen...
Technology in MATH
My students need chromebook tablets and binders to have a connection between Technology and Math.
My Students
My current sixth grade ESL students are full of artistic scholars. They like color, texture, movement, sounds and TECHNOLOGY. As their teacher, I always look for fun, colorful, meaningful, interactive, collaborative and, new ways for them to learn.
Who said that learning should be boring?
If you are like my students, even the simplest lesson becomes the most engaging lesson by their ability to create, represent, and build while learning. Almost every wall in the classroom is covered with student's amazing work and their ability to express themselves through their work.
My Project
Technology today is a big must. Our children in our community need the tools and resources to be successful. It is our commission as their learning coach to facilitate this process.
Technology and Math are always holding hands, as well as Science and Engineering -STEM.
It is no secret that many students are not passionate about math. Students feel disconnected from what is taught in class, unsure of the benefits of math and reluctant to pursue careers in the field. That is why is so important to expose the students in a healthy way.
Technology pushes students towards self-exploration and allows them to see how math is an integral part of the world they live in. This is why it is essential to have more Chromebooks in my classroom.
