Course Overview " Self-Paced Creative Writing
What will be taught?
Students will develop creativity, storytelling skills, and confidence through engaging writing exercises. They will explore character development, perspective, plot, satire, world-building, and concise storytelling, gaining practical skills they can use across all types of writing.
What topics will be covered?
Playlist Essay: Connect personal experiences to chosen songs.
Mystery Writing: Write a story from the perspective of a victim, criminal, or detective using supplied images.
Satire Piece: Create a humorous or thought-provoking piece inspired by Jonathan Swift's A Modest Proposal.
Character Diary / Monologue: Develop a character through diary entries or monologues.
World-Building Flash Fiction: Build a unique world and write a short story of 150"250 words set in that world.
How is the class structured?
This fully self-paced course includes pre-recorded lessons for each assignment. Students or educators guiding learners can progress through lessons at their own speed, revisit them as needed, and submit completed work for personalized feedback.
