I am currently in my third year of teaching at Mack Benn Jr Elementary School. I teach fifth grade reading to three classes in a Title I school with a very high population of at-risk students. Every day I see my students growing not only academically, but socially and emotionally as well. They come from difficult backgrounds and as such we focus a lot on taking care of others. I promote a very strong “family†aspect in my classrooms and let them know that LOVE is present always. Teaching brings me so much joy and fulfillment – a happiness that money can’t buy!
