Most of my students are second language learners, who come from low socioeconomic backgrounds. They often do not have the exposure and resources at home to assist in preparing them for the challenges of the curriculum. Many have overcome great obstacles, personally and academically. They want to learn! They want to succeed! They need the resources to help their academic discovery. The district in which I teach lacks many of the financial resources to provide the materials needed to assist the students in their academic journey.
