About
I am going to be going into my 2nd year as an autistic support teacher for K-2nd. My room was an add on room this year as our Autism program has more than quadrupled in the past 2 years. I walked in to an empty room and immediately knew something had to give. Between myself and an army behind me, I got my room mostly filled. It was a great year but I found that getting my room to be all it needed to be year one, might have been too big of an ambition. I found I had a great deal of lower level learners who all required very different things compared to previous experience. I have been searching for 2nd jobs and additional income opportunities but my classroom takes all my energy and time and with health issues, working too many hours will cause me to not be the best I can be for my students. But here lies the problem....I cannot provide my students with all they need alone. These are the most deserving kids. We are a title 1 school with special education needs growing faster than they can merely open rooms. My current needs are edible reinforcers(candy, goldfish, etc), storage containers, items to create independent tasks, sensory items, safety latches and batteries(we sure love our musical toys). Thank you for considering helping out.
