At the private school I teach at, we do not have access to the public school funding for the bus company in our area. This means my school has to pay for bussing with our own funds, including bussing to and from school. So field trips are hard to do because I (and other teachers) have to pay the bus company myself to do field trips, with my own money (out of pocket). We have some funding from parents and other opportunities, but it does not make enough to do field trips as individual classes. I hope to take a field trip to a nearby 9/11 memorial to let my kids experience how important September the 11th and why it is important that we never forget the brave men and women who served the country that day and some gave the ultimate sacrifice (picture of a class at the memorial below). I also want to do trips to science museums for science class (we are doing Earth science in 2023-2024). I'm hoping to do 2 or three field trips this school year, please help me to give my students a fun and educational experience with a field trip.
