Welcome to room 213 where all the student are achievers. My students come in each day full of eager excitement and with a passion to learn. Students in my classes have unique voices and ownership of their own learning inspiring respect with all who meet them. No matter the obstacles they face outside the class, my students strive to be the best they can be every single day. I teach ALL students.
My students have independently been reading through the titles we currently have in our classroom library and they would appreciate new titles. Research shows that the more one reads, the better reader one becomes. Diverse books teach people about others while promoting respect and empathy for all types of people. Books have the power to encourage students while at the same time enlighten other readers of the perspectives and truths about lives they don't live helping them to build a broader global perspective.
My students need books that are diverse in topic, age appropriate, interesting, and on their reading level. By adding to our library selection, you will be helping students increase their reading stamina, vocabulary, comprehension and love of reading while expanding their thinking and experience of the world. I encourage my students to select titles that spark their interests. I want them to know that reading is for everybody.
