About

The first year I taught, the Vice Principal called me a disappointment as a teacher. I share this because it is something I always go back and reflect on. I think back and wonder why I just didn't quit then. The short answer is that I knew he was wrong and I would do as much as I could to price him wrong.

Over 10 years later I have been to all different types of schools in Philadelphia (Catholic, public, and charter), I am certified in English and Communications, and got my Masters in Special Education focusing Autism Endorsement. With all that I have done and I have experienced I have realized that there is always ways to improve.

Since I am an English teacher, I take pride in trying to select the right kind of book for an individual. I have heard time and time again that students do not like to read. I respond by telling them that they have not found the correct book. I try to find there interests an search away. There are times that I send $100 a week at the bookstore just so they can interstate that not all books are created equal.

I would love to use the money to show students that there are teachers who care and want them to enjoy education.

Thank you for reading this and have a great day.
