About

I am a first grade teacher at a small private school. Our school teaches grades K-8. This was my first year as a teacher and I have learned that teaching is very expensive! . I teach at a low income school (inner city) that has some amazing kiddos. However, my students don't come from much. We rely on our local "Cram the Van" with student supplies for our students. These kids come to school with great attitudes and are eager to learn. Without the support of locals in the community, our school would not be able to thrive. Did you know that first graders love to eat erasers? Yes! I have had to continuously supply pencils and erasers because of this. Any and all supplies come out of my pocket after the small supplies that are donated at the beginning of the year. I also enjoy providing a fun learning environment for my students. I am currently in a very small classroom. Due to a generous donor locally, we have been able to lease a new location for our school. Next year, I will have new class with a lot more class room. I would love for any donations to be received for making sure my class is like a second home to these kiddos. I want to provide comfort and a safe learning environment. I need tons more books as well. Any monies donated will be a tremendous help for these kiddos.
