About
I am a special education teacher at Neodesha High School. I work with students from 9th through 12 grades. We range from students with multiple compounded disabilities, to students with disabilities with reading and math.
As most special educators do, I work to help students try and overcome their disabilities, and improve themselves academically. On top of that, I also try and provide them with skills that will make them more independent whenever they graduate. We try to develop soft skills, and 21st Century job skills, that they can use when they walk out the door.
Currently, we are gearing up for a very big year. We are trying to move into the world of 3d Printing, Screen Printing, and running an on-campus store that sales school items. I strive to improve our program greatly, but we are very limited on how much we can do because of budgets.
Sometimes, I am very jealous of general education teachers, because of how they can show what they are doing, what they have done, or there students accomplishments. I wish I could take to social media and brag or show off on the amazing things my students are accomplishing, but I am not able due to confidentiality. But I am proud of them for taking what they are given and what we are given, and making the best out of it.
