My Name Is Tarquecia Barnes, I am originally from Mississippi, I have been living in Texas since 2012. This will be my third year teaching Kindergarten and I must say it has been quite a pleasure to be able to serve as a teacher. I can not think of any other job I rather have, teaching brings me joy. I grew up in Mississippi In a very low-income area. I have had teachers to tell me " You will grow up to be nothing, you will not succeed." A child should never hear words like that from a teacher, when my teacher told me that for years I believe that i was nothing to be anything, I had no self esteem. My mission is to make sure NONE of my students are treated the way I was treated and none of them EVERY feel like that are nothing.
