Dear friends,
I'm reaching out during a major transition in my life and career. Recent years have presented a series of significant challenges and it is time for a fresh start.
I will be starting a new position as a Special Education Teacher in a warmer climate, an opportunity that represents both professional growth and an important step toward improving my health and overall quality of life.
For example the harsh winters and high cost of living in Illinois, have taken a serious toll on my physical health, and the chronic inflammation has become increasingly difficult to manage.
After careful consideration, we made the difficult but necessary decision to relocate to a climate and state that will better support my wellbeing while allowing me to continue doing the work I love: Teaching students with moderate to severe special needs.
While I am incredibly grateful for this opportunity, the cost of relocating over 1,000 miles is more than we can manage alone. Therefore I am humbly asking my friends for support to help us cover essential moving expenses, including:
-Shipping some essential belongings to my new home.
-Temporarily renting a vehicle upon arrival, since our current vehicle is not reliable enough to safely make the long-distance drive.
-Security deposit/ first month's rent to secure stable housing as we begin this new chapter.
-Funds to set up my new classroom.
As an educator, I've dedicated my career to helping students grow, feel supported, and succeed despite challenges. Now, I'm asking for a little help myself as I work toward a healthier and more stable future.
Any contribution, no matter the amount, would mean more than I can express.
