The current teacher lounge on my floor, which contains one of the only bathrooms and the only kitchen for over 100 educators, has fallen into disrepair, and the district has no funds to help spruce it up. The windows are covered with random, taped-up worksheets to give privacy, the fabric chairs are crusted in 20-year old food and mold, the kitchen sink is coated in rust and debris, the walls are bare, dirty, and full of random staples. In short, it is not a place that our school would ever want students to experience or parents to see, but because it is for staff, it has fallen into disarray. I would love to replace the chairs, make the walls more welcoming, cover the windows with actual protective film, and bring in some fake plants and soft lighting so that teachers actually have a space to be proud of. Any donations would greatly help!
