Herbert Burns

As a child I always had a special interest in history. Later in life while attending Kent State University I was fascinated with information pertaining to the plight and success of African American historical figures. This exceptional form of education combined with stories handed down to me about my grandparents were motivating factors for pursuing a life long career in historical research and education. Holding an office in my neighborhood library grants me the opportunity to enlighten the black community in my surrounding area with knowledge that connects them to their past and rich heritage. It is my hope that this new found knowledge will inspire up and coming generations to prevent past tragedies from reoccurring and create a better living environment.
