My school is a Leader in Me lighthouse school. We teach our students about the 7 Habits of Highly effective students to create leaders in our community. My school is also a Title 1 school with about 70% of the students receiving free and reduced lunch.

My goal is the same every year, to reach my students by building authentic relationships so that I can grow them as leaders and while also fostering a positive learning environment. To do this I need to adapt my classroom to meet my students needs. Sitting in desks can be boring. Students need to get up and move around the classroom. I have had a flexible seating classroom for the past 3 years. Students rotate to different areas daily to complete their independent and collaborative work. By providing my students with various seating options they are able to choose an area that works best for them during each rotation.
