I knew from day one of kindergarten that I wanted to be a teacher. I feel so fortunate and lucky to be able to follow my dreams. Even after 21 years of teaching, I can honestly say I still love teaching. I started my teaching career thinking elementary school was the place for me, but after seven years as a 3rd grade teacher, I made the move to the "dreaded junior high". Little did I know, I would truly find my passion teaching pre-teens. I have taught the last 14 years 7th grade and 6th grade ELA, from reading intervention to advanced classes. The only complaint I have of my profession is that education is definitely under funded, and it's compounded when the students are not able to buy the basic supplies. I love my job and do all I can to make sure students have all the necessary materials, so they can flourish and shine without worrying about needing basic school supplies.
