Lissette Garcia

For the past fourteen years, I have been working in an inner city school. Every year this district faces budget cuts, and our students often pay the price. This district is near and dear to my heart because I was born and raised here. I love working in this district because it allows me to give back to my community.
The students that come through my door are a bunch of 4 and 5 years olds. Despite all the challenges they face, they come with a smile on their face. They enter with different abilities, but always come eager to learn. The most rewarding part of my job is to see how they grow during the school year.
