I have been teaching at Roger Bryan elementary school for the past 17 years, and for my 18th year I will be teaching 2nd grade for the first time. Since I taught 5th grade for the last 9 years, I have to start over with the type of materials that I need that would be appropriate for 2nd graders. I will have around 18 students, but the number is ever changing, since we have a high transient rate. At my school, our budget is constantly being cut, and many general supplies are consistently needed. I enjoy teaching in Nevada, however, by Nevada school law, students technically do not have to have any supplies to start school with or bring during the year. With the pandemic, I have already spent a lot of my own money out of pocket to buy books for my classroom and books for our reading program. I have also bought items that were sent home for students use. My school does it's best to give to us what it can, but supplies run out. I typically spend over a 1500 dollars a year, because I love doing projects and fun educational activities with my students. It would be nice to be able to also replace items that were sent home with students and will not be returned at the end of the year. Any help with that funding would make a world of difference, and would be greatly appreciated! #HighNeeds19 I have been teaching at Roger Bryan elementary school for the past 17 years, and for my 18th year I will be teaching 2nd grade for the first time.
