This 1-Day Lesson addresses several key topics and aspects related to understanding the rise of giant corporations during the Second Industrial Revolution. It is intended to be ready-to-use for any teacher regardless of their prior experience with the content. This lesson is typically done during a 45min class period, though it can be easily adjusted for time.
Topics/events covered: Corporations " what they are, how they differ from sole proprietorships, and their advantages, Corporate Integration strategies (specifically Horizontal and Vertical Integration " what they each are, why/how they are used), influence of Laissez-faire economic policy

- Presentation slides: Full PowerPoint presentation of engaging slides covering all topics listed above (17 slides/pages total)
- Guided Notes - Student Version: Fill-in-the-blank style notes that can be completed by students during or after viewing the Presentation (MS Word doc - 1 page)
- Guided Notes - Teacher Version: Contains completed answer key to Student Version of Notes (MS Word doc - 1 page)
- Multiple-Choice Questions - Student Version: a 6-question multiple-choice quiz on the content covered in the Presentation/Notes, pre-formatted into a ready-to-use handout. Can be distributed to students as a pre-test, exit slip, or post-lesson review/assessment. (MS Word doc - 1 page)
- Multiple-Choice Questions - Teacher Version: Contains completed answer key to Student Version of Multiple-Choice Questions (MS Word doc - 1 page)
