Chris Kyle's book "American Sniper" which was transformed into the film sharing the same name is a window into the mind of a man who from his own perspective was trying to defend his country and his fellow soldiers. The film follows along with the memoirs of Kyle and the things he dealt with during his numerous tours that eventually led to seeing how he broke down.
The following questions go into detail about aspects of the film to help students understand and question those events to see those perspectives. Kyle's struggles are shown in great detail within the film, these questions along with a teachers extra knowledge can pull students into a different mindset to see the world from a perspective that they only think they know.
I have also added a section which explores some more modern views of Kyle and the purpose of the films production.
I have focused on the film as much as possible in case the purchaser has not read Kyle's book to add to the content for the film.
