Description
This resource contains two documents you can use with students.
The first, is a reading that talks about the CLOVIS FIRST THEORY and references artifacts and sites found tens of thousands of years ago in Ancient America. The reading then looks at evidence of artifacts that seem to pre-date the Clovis in the Americas and explains how those challenge the Clovis theory.
The second document shows 4 pages of prehistoric artifacts and cave drawings from sites like; Lascaux Cave, Blombos Cave, Tassili-n-Ajjer, & two Venus Figurines discovered in the Czech Republic and Austria.
Both of these resources can be found in .pdf and .docx format. Both resources include discussion questions. There is not an answer key, because the questions will have multiple different answers and are meant to get students thinking about the theories and sources the students are viewing.
This assignment is best used as a supplemental resource, after teaching about Paleo, Meso, and Neolithic Eras.
