Description
Transitions are always a subjective thing, but yet, they appear on standardized tests all the time. I developed this slide deck in 2019 with a class that would not pay attention to anything but Fortnite (it was on ios then) and the Avengers movies. So, the sentences are video game and Spider-Man heavy (I have updated them). I used the examples from the STAAR released tests to model my sentences, and thus a BINGO game was born.
This set has 2 sets of BINGO cards one full page one-half page. The full-page also has digital chips for you to copy the page and share with students to play online. The Task Cards are intended to be double-sided so you can draw them and check BINGO cards with the answers. There are 8 blank cards for you to add on if needed. Finally, there are 24 slides with a sentence and answers in the speaker notes. You will need to add terms or students will need to repeat words there are 21 words and 24 spaces on the BINGO card.
Directions: Students fill out the bingo card with the posted list of transition words/phrases. Then one at a time call out the transitions until someone yells BINGO. I would suggest printing out slide 9 and laminating it so you can mark the terms as they are called. You will need to add terms or students will need to repeat words there are 21 words and 24 spaces on the BINGO card.
