Description
The Causes of the American Civil War Editable Review Game is guaranteed to be a fun way to keep your students totally focused during review for the big test. The format is a totally unique game called Last Ship Sailing from Zachry's Game Room. Not only will your students be challenged to answer the review questions, there is also an element of strategy as the players/teams try to ensure that their ship is the last to sink. The game is fully editable. If the questions do not align with your curriculum, you can easily change the questions and answers. You can even save the game and insert all new questions for a totally different game if you like.
Object of the Game:
Playing in 2 - 4 teams or individual players, the students try to answer the provided review questions. If the player/team answers a question correctly, he/team will bomb one of the opposing ships. Each ship is given 10 bombs. Once a player/team has been bombed 10 times, that player/team's ship will sink and be out of the game. The player/team that is the last sailing will be the winner.
You can play this game as a whole-class activity, or set it up for small groups of students to play.

SSUSH8: The student will explain the relationship between growing north-south divisions and westward expansion.
SSUSH9: The student will identify key events, issues, and individuals relating to the causes, course, and consequences of the Civil War.
