Description
This is an educational and fun lab. This lab uses common everyday materials and can be used analytically. A data table is provided for more intense users. The ultimate goal is for the students to have some experience in the lab - using a balance and other equipment (hot plate). Also, do some calculations and have some fun eating popcorn! This lab additionally helps students understand why you would need to calculate percent moisture. Know that popcorn requires water in order to work. (i.e. water turns into steam and bursts the hull. This could be used for gas laws as well.
