Description
Dunkirk was one of the most defining moments for the British nation who, although defeated in the Battle of France - turned what was a disastrous situation of losing the entire Allied army, into a miracle by transporting nearly 400,000 British, French, Belgian, and Dutch soldiers to safety. This allowed them to head back to Britain, where they could prepare and train to eventfully make the landing back in France to retake their home countries from Nazi Germany occupation.
The film characterizes the struggle, loss, and hope that the British soldiers and others went through in the harrowing events that unfolded around them during Operation Dynamo. The guided questions provided for the film are made to help the viewer get inside the reasons for what they are seeing. I specifically stepped away from the battle aspects and more so to understanding what it must feel like for the soldiers who were doing everything they could to survive.
