Description
This resource is my research project on Earth's atmosphere. Students will be introduced to 7 different aspects of our atmosphere in a Ppt that includes a brief description and overview of each topic. Once they have chosen a topic, students will then research, plan, create and then present their topic to the class in a round robin/gallery walk.
This research project covers the following topics:
Importance of atmosphere
Greenhouse effect
Climate change
How severe weather is formed
Ozone depletion
Global carbon cycle
Atmospheres on other planets/moons
This resource includes:
PowerPoint introducing key vocabulary of the unit and an activity called "notebook flashcards" to make the notes interactive. Includes links to videos that enhance learning. 28 slides.
Powerpoint for work days: includes warm ups/entrance tickets, exit tickets, directions, class and project expectations. Includes teacher notes. 23 slides.
Project resource handouts explaining project requirements, procedures/directions, helpful links and checklist. 4 pages.
Rubric for project. 2 pages.
Presenter feedback form. 2 half sheets- 1 page.
A short list of online educational resources on each topic. 1 page.
Round Robin/Gallery Walk Packet: During presentations of finished projects, students will answer questions on the different topics. 4 pages.
How can I utilize this resource in my classroom?
This product can be used as a project based summative or formative assessment, online activity during class, as a homework assignment or as a sub plan.
The resources included in this file are formatted as Word documents so they may easily be edited to suit the needs of your classroom. I also included a pdf version of each resource.
Note: this resource is in a zip file. Some computers may need a program such as Winzip to open these types of compression files.
