Description

Use these task cards to practice making fraction models for your classroom or homeschool. Although many children can correctly identify a fraction when it is shown to them, they have trouble representing specific fractions on their own. I have found this activity extremely useful in my math intervention classes. You can use a variety of materials such as LEGO, pattern blocks, Unifix cubes, or any other primary colored objects to have students develop a deeper understanding of fractions. Cards ask for 1, 2, or 3 primary colors. For longer use print on cardstock and laminate. Differentiate by limiting the number of blocks students are given or requiring them to use equivalent fractions. Supports skills from CCSS 3.NF.A.1, TEKS 3.3.A, VA SOL 3.2b, and KS2 Year 3.

Includes:
40 task cards in both color and print-friendly versions
