IDEAS FOR THIS RESOURCE:
Bingo
For bingo board, print enough for students and have them put the words in.
Memory Game
Make pictures bigger if you wish, laminate and make a memory game.
Visual collage that represents the meanings of vocabulary words
Materials: scissors, glue, poster boards.
Activity: Each student selects a vocabulary word and cuts out images from the term/picture pager that represent that word. They then create a collage on a poster board and present it to the class, explaining their image choices.
Enhance vocabulary recall and creativity
Materials: Whiteboard, markers, vocabulary list.
Activity: Divide the class into teams. One student draws a picture on the board that represents a vocabulary word while their team guesses the word. Rotate through team members to give everyone a chance to draw and guess.
Build a personalized vocabulary resource
Materials: Notebooks, colored pencils, digital camera (optional).
Activity: Students create their own picture dictionaries. For each vocabulary word, they draw or photograph something that represents it, then write a definition and example sentence.
