Keep it brief (10-15 minutes) so that kids can get to work. ⭐️ When you get to the mini lesson on “Choosing Your Topic”, kids will choose one of the 5 topics listed (Animal Rights. Bullying, Child Labor, Pollution, Girls’ Education). I highly recommend letting kids select both their topic and group. ⭐️I have left the directions and text choices editable in case you decide to do something different. Also, the links provided were active at the time this product is made. If you get a “dead link”, simply replace or delete. ⭐️Please read this carefully: I highly recommend that you read the articles to be sure they are appropriate for your students. I also recommend adding articles from any platforms/subscriptions that your school might use (Newsela, Brainpop, Scholastic, etc.) ⭐A student presentation slideshow, complete with directions, is also included. This way, kids can share what they've learned. Any questions, feel free to email me at [email protected] I would truly appreciate your feedback with a rating and review. Nonfiction Informational Text Activities for Middle School - Choice Board
$9.99
It is crucial to give middle school students skills to read informational text and nonfiction text well. However, we don't want to make it tedious or boring. You and your students will love this no-prep, fully-linked choice board! This product is for language arts and content teachers alike. It will be a great resource all year and can be used with any informational text and nonfiction text. It's great for a weekly assignment, "fast finishers", as a center, or when you have a substitute. There are 15 choices with directions and links to activity templates. Includes: ✅15 linked activities with directions and templates ✅Activities can be used and re-used for any nonfiction/informational text ✅Digital and printable options Please note that this product does NOT provide text sets; it is to use with your nonfiction reading assignments. Here are some tips and recommendations: ⭐️Everything you need is "all in one" slideshow! Attach to your Google Classroom™ or digital learning platform. ⭐️Everything is linked and ready to go; no prep required! ⭐️When students click the link, it creates their own copy for them in their own drive. They can then “share” it with you electronically or print when complete. ⭐️You could also print the templates if you prefer as some kids prefer hard copies. ⭐️If you do print, they make a great bulletin board display! ⭐️Optional: I also print the slides, staple them to a file folder, and staple them to a bulletin board. Then I print copies of the templates in the folder so that kids can use printables if they/you prefer (see the thumbnail an example.). It is also fun to put good examples from students who do a good job right in the folder as well. ⭐️If you grade them, I would grade them easily…for completion and for completing all components. I suggest a score of 1-5. ⭐️It’s fun to make time to share. Students can lay them on their desk (or open their electronic copy on their device) and take a “gallery” walk. Any questions, feel free to email me at [email protected]. Enjoy! Christmas or Winter Holiday Gift Craft - Poem and Project for Middle School
$4.99
Middle school kids love to create holiday crafts and gifts for Christmas or other winter holidays. The poem and craft can be used as a gift for any special person. Brainstorm ideas to easily write a poem, then create a beautiful craft project as a gift. Directions/examples included! Here is what is included: ✅Guided and editable brainstorm page - for kids to gather ideas for their poem ✅Example brainstorm and example poem - so kids know exactly how to write it ✅Stationery - printable, digital, color, and black/white option ✅Tracer - to make the wreath project ✅Picture of example craft - so you and your students know exactly what to do You will need: ✅Printed copies of the tracer (preferable to trace on cardboard/cardstock) ✅Markers or crayons or colored pencils ✅Glue stick ✅String or ribbon for the wreath ✅Scissors Note: It is preferable, but not required, to have a picture of the student with their special person for the project. If not, just cut the center of the wreath out. Here is what I recommend: ⭐The brainstorm is editable. Make any changes first. This way, it is more customized for your specific population. ⭐️This is a printable resource, but you could absolutely attach the poetry portion to your Google Classroom™. ⭐️Have the students spend some time on the “Brainstorm” slide. ⭐️Review the poetic devices. Encourage students to use some of these to add to the depth of their poems. ⭐️Review the directions for the poem and allow students time to complete their poems. ⭐️Use the directions to complete the project portion. The project will work best on cardboard or oaktag but could be done on regular paper as well. Use a ribbon or string so the wreath can hang. ⭐️An example brainstorm, poem, and completed project are included to guide you and your students. ⭐️I would recommend having kids do this a little at a time rather than in one sitting. Any questions, feel free to email me at [email protected]. I hope you and your students enjoy this project. Happy holidays to all! Winter ELA Activities - Collaborative Coloring Poster & Bulletin Board
$3.50
Having fun and meaningful winter ELA activities is always helpful. Use this collaborative poster to make a great bulletin board display as well. Kids can write in a book they are reading or would like to read and add it to the poster. No prep...just print, hang, and go! The poster reads: Cozy Up with a Good Book Includes: ➡️24 ready to print pages ➡️Numbers on pages for easy assembling ➡️Directions for assembling You'll need: ✅Crayons ✅Stapler ✅Bulletin board ✅Printed copies Here are some tips: ⭐️There are 24 pieces. If you have less than 24 students, assign students who would like an extra to do so. If you have more than 24 students, you can partner some kids together. ⭐️Print this packet. Each page is separate, so it's super easy! ⭐️Be sure your printer is set to “fit to paper”. You can find that under “more settings” and then “scale”. (Note: This slideshow is formatted at 11 x 8.5, which is standard printing paper). ⭐️You can also opt to print 2 pages on 1 sheet (go to “more settings”), but you will likely have to trim the borders with a paper cutter if you do that. ⭐️Crayons/colored pencils are overall better than markers as they don’t smear. ⭐️You might want kids to color in the actual letters and leaves using only one color, but that’s up to you. ⭐️Have kids add in a book that they are reading or would like to read. Titles should be underlined. You might want them to go over the words in a marker so they stand out. ⭐️Use anytime during the winter season. ⭐️Display! They go 6 pieces across and 4 rows down. Any questions, email me at [email protected]. Enjoy! -Linda A. “All in One Middle School” Copyright ©All in One Middle School, Linda Asaro Permission to copy for single classroom use only.
