¡Hola, Maestros y maestras! This Sing Along video is perfect to learn this very classic chilean song by the incredible Violeta Parra for Women's history month! A song that was made popular by Mercedes Sosa in Argentina and Joan Baez in the United States. Un canto a la vida!
This is a streamable, fun and engaging video plus printable worksheets. Maestro Pablo plays la guitarra and as always, lyrics are also on screen to follow and sing along. It comes with a facts sheet about Violeta Parra, lyrics with some blank spaces to fill with palabras from a word bank, and two worksheets to keep working in class or at home, a coloring one, and a 'sopa de letras" exercise. It belongs to my Sing alongs product line, celebrating el Mes de la mujer! It's a slightly shorter version (lyrics-wise) of the original.
This is a Six minute and 44 second music video that you can stream on Youtube using the link provided in the PDF. Music lyrics are displayed on screen while I play and sing, and the printable worksheets provide the opportunity to practice content comprehension with a word-searching and writing activity, using some words from the lyrics, facts sheet, a beautiful illustration of Violeta to color, and lyrics to follow and complete. Your students will have a great time with it en el día y mes de la mujer, learning about such an important cultural icon of Latinoamérica.
