Description
Halloween is right around the corner and your kids are probably already counting down the days for sugary goodness. Capture their excitement this year by creating fun Halloween themed units that perfectly align with math and english language arts content as well.
In this unit, students will have the chance to create their own version of a witch potion. They are given a variety of creepy ingredients to create their concoction with. The more disgusting the better! For the Reading and Writing part, students are given key words like "mash," "peel," "drain," etc with a list of 12 ingredients to create a potion recipe with.
For the math portion, students calculate the total price for each of their creepy ingredients using different quantities of their choice (ex: 3 eyeballs at $2.00/eyeball, 4 tsp. of bats blood at $1.25/tsp). Each worksheet is scaffolded every step of the way to help students with this process!
This Witch Potion unit is the perfect way to get those reluctant students to completely dive right into a fun unit that gets their imaginations going!
