Description
his 65-slide deck will introduce the student to medications used in the treatment of urinary disease. The deck covers diuretics generally in addition to the following disease states: acute kidney injury, chronic kidney disease, gout, overactive bladder, benign prostatic hyperplasia, and erectile dysfunction.
Each section starts with a high-level disease review and defines key terms. Medications are presented by therapeutic category. The following are described for each: formal indication, dosing and administration, black box warnings and contraindications, warnings and precautions, drug interactions, side effects, and place in evidence-based therapy (QR codes embedded to the guidelines for treatment). Additionally, generic naming convention is highlighted.
An appendix is included that provides drug tables comparing dosing and frequency of administration of drugs across the same class. Brand names for each generic can be found in the notes.
Slides are heavily referenced and only include open access images.
