This Kindergarten readiness assessment is low-prep and easy to administer to students individually. Use the information from this readiness assessment to quickly get to know your students and their academic needs. This can also be used throughout the year to monitor students' academic progress.
This product can be used with beginning of the year Kindergarten students face to face or virtually. There are pages that can be printed for Kindergarten students to track to name colors, letters, numbers, shapes, and a sentence to read. This includes a PowerPoint that can be projected in the classroom on a laptop, student devices or on a large screen. It can also be used virtually in screen share mode. This assessment comes with a recording/scoring sheet for the teacher to look at student readiness for Kindergarten.
The skills this readiness assessment assess are:
-say and write first and last name
-identify colors (11 basic colors)
-identify capital letters
-identify lowercase letters
-identify letter-sound correspondence
-rote count
-identify numbers (0-10)
-write numbers
-identify 4 basic shapes (square, triangle, circle, rectangle)
-read a basic sentence to gain an understanding of print tracking
*There is also a behavior/readiness checklist on the recording sheet to give you additional information about the student.
