Description
This resource is a mini coloring book to help students understand the structures atoms form at the atomic level.
MS-PS1-1 invites students to develop models of the different atomic arrangements pure substance can have. This resource is a 1 page sheet that folds into a mini or small book showcasing the different arrangements atoms can have in elements. Elements can have atoms that are separate from other atoms of the same element i.e. helium. Elements can covalently bond either to make a diatomic molecule like hydrogen or an extended structure like graphite or a diamond. Elements are also able to be attracted to one another in metallic bonding. The different names of bonding are outside of the performance objective, but include here in the description for the teacher.
