Description

Peter Liljedhal says that we must give students non curricular thinking tasks as a first step to creating a thinking classroom, where 80% or more of the students are engaged and thinking 80% or more of the time. Match stick puzzles are an excellent problem solving task to give students to encourage problem solving, critical thinking, collaboration, and perseverence.

Ways you can use this resource:

-Digitally with Google Slides (individual or with a partner)

-Whole class on a smart board or smart tv

-Hands-on by using pencils, crayons, strips of paper, popcicle sticks, or anything you have in your classroom (individual, partners, or small group)!

Make a copy of the puzzle slide (puzzle slide only, not the entire slide show) and assign it to Google Classroom (making a copy for each student). This ensures that students cannot see the puzzle solution.

Watch for more puzzles and a bundle coming soon!
