Looking for a great lesson that encourages collaboration and hands-on experience in creating and making maps, graphs, and/or charts? Or do you need a simple lesson to introduce the concept of population density to your students?

This lesson includes videos, map presentations, and more to teach students the meaning behind "population density". Students will team up to work collaboratively to create a map, graph, or chart depicting the population density of the 7 continents. In addition, they will learn how to calculate population density. Students will analyze their maps, graphs, and charts to compare and contrast the differences and reasons for densely and sparsely populated regions and will provide 5 reflection statements based on their observations.

This lesson includes:

o Links to Youtube videos
o Links to maps
o Student activity sheet
o Map reproducible
and more.

A Smart Board or projector with a screen will be needed for this lesson.

Will need to be able to open a ZIP FILE.

Due to links changing and sometimes not being able to open, I have included the maps as printables.

Disclosure: One purchase is good for one teacher. Additional licenses can be purchased for use by multiple teachers.

REVIEWS:

Extremely satisfied ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
"Great resource! I am currently teaching face-to-face and online at the same time, and this resource worked well for both."

"Worked well with my class. My students don't have access to computers -which would have improved the lesson and allowed them to do research about why different continents have different populations. If I did it again I would print out some resources to give them. My 7th graders had no idea why so many more people live in Asia vs. North America, etc. So the cause and effect statements were difficult for them. Overall it took my students almost 2 full periods (53 minutes each). I would recommend it."
