Description
A middle school New Year's activity project that is engaging, meaningful, and most importantly, easy enough to do on their own! This New Year's flip book project will help kids reflect on the past year and look forward to the new year. Simply print, trim, staple, and you're all set.
We all know that the first day back after winter break can be rough on kids and teachers alike. Having this printed on their desks is the way to go! It will give them something independent to work on while you get your bearings and set up for the next lesson.
Here is what is included:
✅8 pages (they are in a slideshow that is formatted for 8.5 x 11 paper)
✅A clear, gray area to cut off so that your pages become a flip book
✅Editable student directions
✅The 8 activities include:
Cover page
Looking ahead
New Year's playlist
In a word
Emojis
Goals
Favorites
Creative, guided poetry writing activity
You will need:
✅Printed copies
✅Markers or crayons or colored pencils
✅Scissors - kids can easily trim their own booklet
✅Copies of the student direction page (edit before printing if you'd like)
✅Stapler
Here is what I recommend:
⭐Print the pages. For your convenience, the number is on the top right.
⭐Print the student directions separately. They are editable, so make any changes before printing.
⭐I would print the 8 pages in sets, and staple on top (3 staples work well).
⭐Trim the gray edges, or have the kids do that.
⭐Then simply leave a copy of the directions and booklet on each desk as students come in.
⭐It is great to make some time to share at the end of the period.
Any questions, please email me at [email protected].
I hope you and your students enjoy this project. Happy new year to all!
