Students negotiate compromises all the time with different people, in different settings, and about different things! Negotiation and compromises are key future-ready skills that students need to develop to help them navigate and succeed in the real world, their lives right now, and at school.
This resource includes 48 Negotiation and Compromise Writing/Discussion Questions (in the form of Task Cards, Worksheets, and Google Slides) to help students think about and understand the concept of negotiation and compromise.
✅ You can use the prompts as discussion topics or writing prompts " or BOTH! It's a great way to spark some interesting conversations about what it means to negotiate a compromise.
✅ You may also use these writing/discussion questions or prompts to assess what students already know about what negotiation and compromise means and what more you need to do to further develop their comprehension of this important life skill.
✅ You can also have students role-play some of the ideas presented in the cards! It would be super fun to see how students would demonstrate effective negotiation strategies to reach acceptable agreements!

✅ These Task Cards can be used as part of a larger lesson, in guided small groups, whole-class discussions, partner discussion before sharing out with the larger group or class, or even one-on-one with a teacher, guidance counselor, or parent/guardian!
