Description
Do you need a fun way to practice the phonics concepts you teach during the last part or end of the year? Maybe you have fast finishers or are looking for something for your ELA centers? These scrambled word puzzles can be the solution!
Young learners love puzzles. My students enjoy the challenge of unscrambling words and matching puzzle pieces to them. Each puzzle in the set has words with a specific phoneme, aligning well with the last group of phonics concepts typically presented in 1st grade. As expected, this set is the hardest of the 1st grade sets. At 30 puzzles, it's also the biggest! Your 'high flyers" will like the challenge, but these can also be used with 2nd graders. You might want to briefly display the words to your group and echo read them to prime your learners for success.
