Teaching bossy r can be a tricky concept for students to understand! This phonics flipbook is geared towards helping students learn the R-Controlled UR phonics sound. This easy-to-assemble bossy R phonics flipbook includes three different phonics activities to help students master the "UR" Bossy R sound.
What is included?
Roll, Read & Draw It - Students will roll the dice and read the correct column of R-Controlled words, then draw one of the words they read.
Unscramble It - Students will put a sentence that includes bossy r (UR) words in order. Students will also use pictures to unscramble words with the UR sound.
Read & Write It - Students will read a passage and highlight the UR words they find. They will then write three of the words in sentences.
Differentiation:
This phonics activity has a variety of activities for students at different reading levels. For example, when students roll and read, the words go from one syllable with the phonics pattern to three or more syllables i.e. more challenging words. Students can write simple or complex sentences based on their level of reading and writing ability, and more!
