Description

This activity aids student learning (and teacher evaluation of) through the use of student created metaphors. Incredibly flexible - you can use this for just about any liberal arts class and lesson.

The purpose of this activity is to help the student to create memorable word associations and images of history, making the course more interesting, personal, and effective.

Think about when you tell stories. In essence, the student is trying to make memorable and express the significance of his/her experiences and opinions by using words and sometimes images of names as well as emotion, color, action, and feelings.

This activity is similar. The student is to create a parallel story (an example of sorts) that represents the spirit (ideas) of the lesson's objective.
