In the slide presentation, you can edit the first few slides so they apply to your routines and expectations.
The icebreakers and community building activities are:
1. Mingle Scavenger Hunt -
2. The Circle Game - students share and learn about commonalities
3. Individual T-shirt design - using symbols, pictures, words
4. Group brainstorming on classroom rules - plus voting activity
5. Fan, Pick, Answer, Respond group activity (students love this one for sharing and learning about each other) This is a great unit learning game as well for review and practice.
6. Check in and share class opener in groups
7. "Five things you can't know about me by looking" activity that also includes group roles to train students on group projects and academic discussion.
These are all editable so you can add information about you that breaks the ice as well and helps your student see you as an individual. I show and share family, pets, hobbies, likes and dislikes, sports, my colleges, etc.
