Description
Simile writing is easy with this monster writing and craft! Teach students to use similes as part of this descriptive writing resource. This lesson can be taught in one day or stretched out throughout five days. Students generate lists of adjectives to describe their monsters, turn the adjectives into similes to describe how their monster acts, smells, feels, sounds and their appearance. They then use the lists to create similes about their monster, which is then turned into a flip-book like craft for you to either hang up in the hallway or send home. There are dozens of options for monsters to make, giving students the option on creating a unique monster for each student!
