Description
Have you noticed the collective moan that echoes through your Algebra classroom as soon as you say "word problems"? This no-prep solving quadratic equations application is designed to engage your students while challenging them to think outside of the box.
Your students will:
- create equations in standard form and vertex form
- graph quadratic equations
- calculate the vertex of a quadratic equation
- perform polynomial operations (add, subtract, multiply)
- find roots by factoring, using the quadratic formula, graphing
- apply the vertical motion model
- think critically and use reasoning to solve problems
This real world application is perfect for group work, challenging early finishers, or as an assessment. There are three different scenarios which are broken up into different parts. The combined assignment as well as individual assignments are included, if your students do not have the time to complete all three sections.
