Description
Do you struggle with getting your students to speak Spanish in the classroom? This resource will help you motivate students to practice target family vocabulary (la familia) and grammar structures (ser, tener, possessive adjectives, and descriptive adjectives) from your Spanish Family Unit while building their interpersonal communication skills in Spanish!
Choose between several paired speaking activities and several whole-class speaking activities - a speaking assessment is also included for you to assess students' proficiency. This resource also includes specific directions and suggestions for implementation, as well as tips and tricks from my own experience using this resource in my World Language classroom!

Detailed directions and suggestions for implementation are included for each activity.
✶ Family Tree Analysis Speaking Activity
In this whole-class speaking activity, students will use targeted vocabulary and language structures from the Family Unit to ask and answer questions about a family tree.
✶ Information Gap
In this paired speaking activity, Student A and Student B will ask each other questions and provide responses about their respective family tree to help their partner fill in missing information.
✶ Interpersonal Conversations (Q&A)
Students will ask and answer open-ended questions about a family tree in this paired speaking activity.

Students will survey their classmates to find out more information about their family members in this whole-class speaking activity.
✶ Sondeo
Using possessive adjectives and descriptive adjectives, students will survey their classmates and ask them to provide descriptive details about their family members.
✶ Speaking Assessment
Use this assessment to formatively gauge how your students are able to use the vocabulary and grammar in a communicative context.
