Description
Social Story- an interactive book/printable designed to discuss the behavior expectations and rules when there is a substitute teacher! Children become the main character of the story as they answer questions, color, draw pictures as they review the expectations of having a substitute and discuss the feeling surrounding having a different teacher for the day. This is a great way to set behavior expectations at the beginning of the year for having a substitute. Then, ensure your students follow the behavior expectations all year long by reviewing the book before having a substitute all year long!

HOW TO USE SOCIAL STORIES-
IDEA 1: Whole Class- Teaching the Lesson
Print out one half-page book per student
Display book on ActiveBoard using Google Slide Deck
Fill out the book with students as they fill it out themselves
Discuss each page with the help of the Discussion Guide!
IDEA 2: Whole Class- Remediation
Send student to a calming corner (calm area of the room)
Have student re-read the their social story to review expectations
Student calms down before you talk to them
