Description

1971, Stanford University - Philip Zimbardo, the Psychology Dept. Chair runs a social experiment that attempts to recreate the social interactions between prisoners, guards and prison administrators in the basement of a building on campus. What happened within a few days has become the focal point of countless studies and debates to this day.

The film does a fantastic job of exploring a variety of the situations that were run into by Zimbardo's team. And although most of what happened was explained - not everything came out in the interviews. The film was created on the basis of the majority of people who participated and observed the experiment in its entirety.

The questions provided in this guide explore a variety of the issues that the film presents and gives the students to see different sides of the story by watching and going into deeper processes of thought to answer them.
