Description
Who says Algebra 1 students can't have fun and do some Thanksgiving Math?! In this turkey craft activity, students will solve equations with variables on ONE side (looking for both sides, I have that too) on separate "feathers" and then put them together to create their very own festive math turkey! Use as decoration for a door or bulletin board for the whole month of November!
Included are 12 problems all with variables on one side. Special solutions are not included (but they are included in the variables on both sides version)! 6 problems have no distributing, just combine like terms and 6 problems have to distribute once and combine like terms.
Teacher prep: Each page has 6 of the same solving equations problems on it so you can copy on different colored paper to make the feathers colorful. OR you can print on white paper and have students color their feathers and decorate them after completing all the problems! There is a bit of cutting and gluing to get the turkey bodies together, so I will sometimes have a few of those put together already for the students who take longer doing the math! I've also included "completed" turkey bodies if you'd like less cutting/gluing going on in your classroom!
