Description
This resource is great for teachers or homeschoolers looking to enhance their student's education with a classroom aquarium. This resource contains a 6 page (3 page printed duplex) water parameter record sheet with graphing practice for pH, ammonia, nitrite and nitrate levels. I also included a 9 slide powerpoint introducing students to the nitrogen cycle and why proper care is needed in owning a fish tank.
Materials you will need:
Classroom aquarium (any size) with filter. More info on how to setup an aquarium can be found here. Fun fact! Petco offers classroom pet grants for teachers in the U.S. & Canada, find out more info on the grant process here
Water parameter test kit. I use the API master test kit for both my classroom and home aquariums but any test kit will do that tests ammonia, ph, nitrate and nitrite*

Note: this resource is in a zip file. Some computers may need a program such as Winzip to open these types of compression files.
*Also, please note that I did not include directions on how to test for these chemicals as you will need the solution and directions specific to your water testing kit. This resource is meant as a way for students to record and graph their data from the kit results.
